Compound Dorsal Dislocation of Lunate with Trapezoid Fracture
We report about a dorsal dislocation of the lunate accompanied by a trapezoid fracture in a 41-year old male patient after a motorcycle accident. The lunate dislocation with no dorsal or volar intercalated segment instability (DISI, VISI) was diagnosed by x-ray whereas the trapezoid fracture was only diagnosable by computed tomography. A closed reduction and internal fixation of the lunate by t...
متن کاملAcute Dislocation of the Metacarpal-Trapezoid Joint.
The trapezoid metacarpal dislocation is a rare event. In the literature, it is found in case reports. This injury is caused by direct or indirect high energy trauma. In most cases, the dislocation is dorsal and is difficult to reproduce because the joint is not very mobile. Given the low incidence and little evidence supported in the literature regarding the management, this injury can be treat...
متن کاملA rare combined injury of dorsal fracture-dislocation of four carpometacarpal joints and trapezium, trapezoid and distal radius bone fractures.
Incorrect or delayed diagnosis and treatment of the carpometacarpal fracture-dislocations is often associated with poor prognosis. We present a rare case of unusual pattern of injury, involving dorsal dislocation of four ulnar carpometacarpal joints, associated with fracture of the trapezium, a burst fracture of the trapezoid bone and an extra-articular fracture of the third distal of the rad...
متن کاملIsolated dorsal midtarsal (Chopart) dislocation: a case report.
A case of isolated dorsal midtarsal (Chopart) dislocation resulting from blunt trauma is reported. The mechanism of injury, management, and long-term outcome are discussed. A 45-year-old inebriated man fell from a 4-m height and landed on his feet. He had immediate bilateral foot and back pain. Radiographs showed a burst fracture of the second lumbar vertebra, a left Pott's fracture, and an iso...
متن کامل[Palmar scaphoid dislocation associated with dorsal perilunate dislocation. A case report and review of the literature].
Most carpal dislocations occur in the lunate bone or around it (perilunate). An isolated dislocation of the carpal scaphoid is a rare injury. We report a case of a palmar scaphoid dislocation combined with a dorsal perilunate dislocation, which was treated with open reduction, fixed with two Kirschner wires and ligament repair, with a good result.
